Title: "What's Happening in NOLA?  A Massive Staged Accident Trucking Fraud!"

Speaker:  Nick Arnold, Trial Partner at Blue Williams LLP, New Orleans, LA

Description:  "Have you been in an accident with an eighteen-wheeler?  Call my office!"  How many times have you heard this while watching daytime TV from attorneys?  Eighteen-wheeler drivers are the targets of many daytime commercials.  Some unscrupulous persons have decided to help this scenario along by staging trucking accidents. A massive staged accident trucking ring was recently discovered in Louisiana and is the subject of an extensive federal fraud being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Louisiana State Police, National Crime Insurance Bureau, and private insurance companies and attorneys.  Involved participants include "cappers" and "runners," law enforcement, medical providers, and attorneys.  Dozens have been indicted by the US Attorney's office and the investigation is ongoing. There has even been a murder of a cooperating defendant as well!

Nick Arnold has been following this investigation and is going to give a detailed discussion of what has happened in this case to date.
