Presentation Description:
Participants will learn about script writing in ACL and IDEA through some demonstrated examples, and how script writing can be used to perform continuous auditing. Participants will also learn subject matter for which script writing can be used to perform continuous auditing, as well as basic tips for writing and documenting scripts. Insights into independence issues when internal auditors share scripts with other auditors will also be discussed.
Ronny Daigle is a professor of accounting at Sam Houston State University. He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of South Alabama, master's in accounting from Texas Tech University, and PhD in accounting from Texas Tech University. He is a licensed certified public accountant in the state of Alabama, as well as a certified fraud examiner and a chartered global management accountant. His teaching interests are in accounting information systems and auditing. His research interests include continuous auditing and judgment and decision making issues. His work has been published in a variety of academic, educational, and practitioner journals.
Jill Daigle, CISSP, CISA, CGEIT, CFSA, ACDA
Jill Daigle has 27 years of internal audit experience. Ten of those years include a heavy concentration in information technology auditing. She leads the Data Analytics Team within the Internal Audit Department at Zions Ban corporation with identifying opportunities to test 100% of the audit population through the implementation of data analytics. She has been working at Zions Bancorporation for nine years. She has also developed and maintained a continuous auditing program. She graduated from Nicholls State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in accounting. She holds the holds the following certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CGEIT (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT), CFSA (Certified Financial Services Auditor) and ACDA (ACL Certified Data Analyst).

Learning Objectives
