Presentation: Counterfeit Trends and Techniques

Speaker: Craig Fraser, Senior Special Agent, United States Secret Service

Presentation Description:

This course shows the different types of counterfeit and how to spot it through the lack of security features present in genuine currency.

Craig Fraser began his career with the US Secret Service in 2001 in the Washington Field Office where he spent three years investigating counterfeit US currency cases while simultaneously providing protection to the President, the Vice President, and other protectees of the Secret Service. Agent Fraser spent one year as an agent specializing in on line investigations where he investigated network intrusion and child predator cases. His final year in the Washington Field Office was spent investigating threat cases against protectees.

Agent Fraser later transferred to the Protective Intelligence Division where he worked threat cases at the national level for four years. While in this capacity he also traveled with the President to provide Protective Intelligence support while he was away from Washington. In 2010, he transferred to the Houston Field Office and worked primarily threat cases for his first three years before returning to work counterfeit cases exclusively for the last three years. Prior to his time with the US Secret Service, he was an active duty soldier in the Army for ten years, and was a Trooper with the Virginia State Police for one year.
